SUMMARY:Plant Propagation Saturday 6th June 2026
DESCRIPTION:One of the wonders of nature that inspired me in my gardening life is how a seed grows into a tree; I discover this at 6 or 7 years old and the wonder has never left. Propagating plants has developed in an obsessive compulsive disorder that helps populate the garden. \nIn our plant propagation workshop we hope to stimulate a desire to multiply your stock of garden plants from seed\, cuttings and division. We will dig up things from around the garden\, depending on season\, and pot up for you to take home for your garden. Expect to take home 4 or 5 pots\, so bring a bag. \nThe workshops have a maximum of eight people so you can get practical experience not just a demonstration. \nThe course are 2 hours long 10.30-12.30 on a Saturday or 6.30 to 8.30 on Wednesday evenings. You are welcome to arrive early and look around or stay after to enjoy the garden. Refreshments provided. We are here to answer your questions on the day or anytime after by email or message.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at Kirklands for a garden tour\, refreshments and networking opportunity on a summer evening. This tour is for members of Fife Women in Business and their guests. \nStroll around the garden with Peter & Louisa to see our beautiful display of flowers\, including the colourful primulas and meconopsis (Himalayan Blue Poppy)\, walled vegetable garden and woodland areas. Learn about the history of the garden\, how it was created over the past 48 years and how we keep our little patch of paradise looking good. \nRefreshments are included in your ticket price (tea\, coffee and cakes) and will be served in the marquee with a chance to network with other members.  We have plants for sale and gardeners to ask for advise on what to grow in your own garden. \nDogs on a lead are welcome.

DESCRIPTION:The secret\, if there is one\, to good gardening is in the soil. Looking after your soil is vital. We are only beginning to understand the importance of all the billions of organisms that contribute to the health of plants and the structures in the ground that supply water and nutrients to our precious flowers or vegetables. In this short session we will give you the secrets to making good compost. The mix of materials to ensure your heap gets hot enough to produce the right results and the importance of aeration – mixing a second time to introduce more air to the process. \nThe workshops have a maximum of eight people so you can get practical experience not just a demonstration. Be prepared to get stuck into a compost heap! \nThe course is two hours\, 10.30 to 12.30 on Saturday morning. Refreshments will be provided. You are welcome to arrive early and look around or stay after to enjoy the garden. We are here to answer your questions on the day or anytime after by email or message.

SUMMARY:Garden Tour Candelabra Primulas Saturday 20th June 2026
DESCRIPTION:We have worked hard in recent years to diversify our woodland areas\, removing 1\,000s of bluebells and replanting them over the stream in the natural woods. We love bluebells\, but the plan we to extend and improve the garden area. Our first chosen plant group was the candelabra primula. The moist\, partially shaded borders have hundreds of primulas; from the tough self seeding Primula Japonica\, the purple Beesiana\, the orange Bulleyana to the more delicate Chungensis and Cockburniana\, the tallest Pulverulenta and the scented Alpicola. \nStroll around the garden with Peter  and discuss conditions\, colour schemes\, dividing and raising from seed. The tour has a maximum of eight people so you can ask about every individual plant or just enjoy the spectacle.
