DESCRIPTION:This is an introduction to gardening for young people to inspire future generations of gardeners. \nThe workshops have a maximum of eight children each accompanied by an adult\, so everyone can get practical experience not just a demonstration. One ticket per child\, accompanying adults do not need a ticket. \nThe course are 2 hours long 10-12 on a Saturday. You are welcome to arrive early and look around or stay after to enjoy the garden. DESCRIPTION:One of the wonders of nature that inspired me in my gardening life is how a seed grows into a tree; I discover this at 6 or 7 years old and the wonder has never left. Propagating plants has developed in an obsessive compulsive disorder that helps populate the garden. \nIn our plant propagation workshop we hope to stimulate a desire to multiply your stock of garden plants from seed\, cuttings and division. We will dig up things from around the garden\, depending on season\, and pot up for you to take home for your garden. \nThe workshops have a maximum of eight people so you can get practical experience not just a demonstration. \nThe course are 2 hours long 10-12 on a Saturday or 6.30 to 8.30 on Wednesday evenings. You are welcome to arrive early and look around or stay after to enjoy the garden. We are here to answer your questions on the day or anytime after by email or message.

DESCRIPTION:The secret\, if there is one\, to good gardening is in the soil. Looking after your soil is vital. We are only beginning to understand the importance of all the billions of organisms that contribute to the health of plants and the structures in the ground that supply water and nutrients to our precious flowers or vegetables. In this short session we will give you the secrets to making good compost. The mix of materials to ensure your heap gets hot enough to produce the right results and the importance of aeration – mixing a second time to introduce more air to the process. \nThe workshops have a maximum of eight people so you can get practical experience not just a demonstration. Be prepared to get stuck into a compost heap! \nThe course is an hour and 30 minutes. 6.30 to 8.00 on Wednesday evenings. Refreshments will be provided. You are welcome to arrive early and look around or stay after to enjoy the garden. We are here to answer your questions on the day or anytime after by email or message.
