Garden Tour Meconopsis Saturday 30th May 2026

We think the garden at Kirklands is at its best in the second half of May. Rhododendrons and azaleas are still flowering, spring bulb are still flowering, the garden has the spring freshness. The meconopsis at Kirklands are in full bloom.
Stroll around the garden with Peter to see the difference between fertile and infertile meconopsis, how Lingholm differs from its close relatives and the versions of Himalayan Blue Poppy in white or purple. Most of the meconopsis at Kirklands are propagated by division but many are raised from seed; we talk about the benefits of each method. The tour has a maximum of eight people so you can ask about every individual plant or just enjoy the spectacle. The talk is not just about meconopsis but exploring all the wonders of the garden.
The tour starts at 2.30 and takes about an hour followed by tea, coffee and home made cakes and a chance to buy some of the treasures you have seen around the garden at 10% discount.
If you would like to organise an exclusive tour, please contact Peter: 07557 094498 or peter@kirklandsgarden.co.uk This can be organised for any date or plant group but please avoid the busiest weekends.
