Composting June 26th

The secret, if there is one, to good gardening is in the soil. Looking after your soil is vital. We are only beginning to understand the importance of all the billions of organisms that contribute to the health of plants and the structures in the ground that supply water and nutrients to our precious flowers or vegetables. In this short session we will give you the secrets to making good compost. The mix of materials to ensure your heap gets hot enough to produce the right results and the importance of aeration – mixing a second time to introduce more air to the process.
The workshops have a maximum of eight people so you can get practical experience not just a demonstration. Be prepared to get stuck into a compost heap!
The course is an hour and 30 minutes. 6.30 to 8.00 on Wednesday evenings. Refreshments will be provided. You are welcome to arrive early and look around or stay after to enjoy the garden. We are here to answer your questions on the day or anytime after by email or message.
